The journey begins

My home for the next 2 months!!!

It's finally time! Tomorrow morning I will be heading to Nicaragua with a team of 15 people! What an incredible journey it has been up to this point. The running theme throughout planning for this trip has been...listening to His voice and being sensitive to the Holy Spirit's leading. Just about everything that has been planned at one point has literally changed at least once. Which means that God is moving!

I cannot wait to share about what he does over this trip. To see the faces of those he directed us to. For example: originally we were planning on having a women's conference with the women of Bethel. Bethel is a village that Vision Nicaragua has work very specifically in the past. However, about 2 weeks ago I really felt strongly that perhaps this wasn't who we were to have this women's conference with. So, after months of preparing lessons my friend Lindsay and I have totally scraped everything we have planned. Right after doing this we found out about a "new" village that has about 41 families....no electricity....no pastor...no church...and are without the basic necessities. Once I heard about this it was evident in my spirit that this was the village we were to go to. Please pray that these women will be receptive to the Gospel and that they will be aware of God's love for them! We are going to also have VBS with the children in this village as well as passing out gift bags (similar to Samaritans Purse). In addition to that we are going to give each family 10lb. bags of beans and rice and a pot and pan to cook it with.

My friend Lindsay shared this verse with me last night and it so accurately explains this trip. Exodus 10:26 "...And we don't know how we are to worship the Lord until we get there."

I'm so thankful that God shows us what we need to know when we need to know it! He's so good. I can't wait to fall more in love with him as a result of learning to follow his leading and depending on him to guide me!
